WARRANTY, REFUND & RETURNS POLICY
Last updated: 1 January 2025
About this policy
Our Credit, Warranty, Refund and Returns Policy provides benefits in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This policy applies to every Tough Dog 4WD suspension product supplied through 4Way Suspension Products Pty Ltd.
Account terms
All export orders must be prepaid before shipment. Credit terms are 30 days from the end of the trading month. Credit will be suspended if payment is not made within trading terms. Unpaid accounts at 30 days will be placed on stop supply. If no credit arrangement exists, all goods must be prepaid before leaving 4Way Suspension premises.
Freight & insurance
All prices are quoted Ex-Warehouse and do not include freight. Ownership of the goods passes to the buyer at the time they leave 4Way Suspension premises, providing payment has been made according to applicable account terms. Unless specified otherwise, freight will be added to the total cost of goods using the supplier's preferred freight company.
Credit & warranty returns
Goods for credit or exchange must be returned within 14 days of invoice date, accompanied by a completed returns form. Goods returned for a warranty claim must also be accompanied by the return form and a copy of the customer invoice. Freight on returned goods remains the responsibility of the returning party. A 15% repackaging fee applies if repackaging is required.
Warranty exclusions
Tough Dog warranty does not cover:
1. Parts incorrectly installed.
2. Struts assembled with tools other than hand tools — no rattle guns or impact tools.
3. Load-bearing strut bushes tightened while hanging — must be tightened with vehicle on the ground at its own weight.
4. Interference between shock absorber and other suspension components.
5. Parts involved in a motor vehicle accident or physically damaged by impact.
6. Parts showing improper tightening of mounting bolts.
7. Gripping-tool marks on the polished chrome shaft.
8. Parts subjected to abuse.
9. Parts used in racing or competition.
10. Fair wear and tear components — bushings warranted for 12 months as a component of the shock absorber.
11. Special-order parts — warranty limited to manufacturing defects.
12. Parts fitted to vehicles exceeding original GVM or the revised GVM specified by a Tough Dog GVM upgrade.
Self-fit (DIY) suspension warranty
DIY fitment does not affect warranty application or term provided:
1. A fitting sheet is completed prior to fitment and filed for reference.
2. The fitting sheet includes bottom-of-rim to wheel-arch measurements at all four corners — before fitment, after fitment, and at the 500km check service.
3. U-Bolts are replaced at the time of fitment — U-Bolts are a stretch-fit item and must not be torqued twice.
Making a warranty claim
Submit warranty claims through the authorised Tough Dog dealer that supplied or fitted your product. Include proof of purchase with kilometre reading at time of fitment, and the original fitting sheet. Warranty is limited to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
Australian Consumer Law
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
